Some Dogs are born to work – it’s in their DNA! At the 2019 Dog Lovers Show visitors learnt how important genetics are, how puppies are trained, and the roles of experienced Dogs.
Visitors discovered, in person, the intricacies of working Dogs and were astounded by the results of years of training. They found out how working Dog breeds differ in their skill sets and how they work the sheep in their quintessential Aussie style.
The Outdoor Area amazed visitors with talented working dogs as they perform in the Sheepdog Speed Trials and Extreme High Jump Competitions.
Australian Working Dog Rescue Inc (AWDRI) presented the Outdoor Arena program where purpose-bred working Dogs were placed ‘in their element’ – safely moving real sheep through a course, just as they would do on the farm.
In addition, 2019 saw the introduction of the first Extreme High Jump Competition, where working Dogs leaped to break new World Records.
The well-known face of AWDRI, Carey Edwards, ignited the Outdoor Arena with expert commentary and acclaimed judging, giving visitors a chance to get up close and paw-sonal.
