Rose Horton

Rosalie (‘Rose’) Horton is a highly qualified and experienced animal advocate with a passion for canine behaviour and rehabilitation. She has worked in many areas of the animal industry; as a qualified animal scientist, zoo keeper, behaviourist, veterinary nurse, and animal trainer. She teaches animal behaviour at TAFENSW and hands on workshops in Canine Behaviour. Rose is a behavioural consultant for shelters and pounds has been instrumental in changing many practises in shelter animal management and has been a driving force in lowering euthanasia rates of dogs in NSW. Rose is the founder of ‘Animal Behaviour Experts’ which is an animal behaviour consultancy that provides behavioural advice to pet owners and trains animals for film and television work. She is widely known in the animal industry and is a popular and sought after educator and has regular media appearances to spread the word about helping animals. Rose’s aim is to improve the lives of dogs in our community through educating people about behavioural communication and to appreciate just how amazing dogs really are.
