Every homeless Dog deserves the opportunity to find a loving, well-suited home for life.

The Pedigree Rescue Dog Zone was a unique opportunity to learn all about Dog adoption with experts on hand at the show and dozens of Rescue Groups exhibiting. Visitors could discover whether Dog adoption is right for them, what is involved, how to find a suitable Dog and start the process.

We wereso excited for Pedigree to come on board as our official Rescue Dog Zone Sponsor and worked closely with our team to help find loving homes for Dogs in need.

Our Show remains just as committed to raising awareness for adoption and substantially increasing the number of abandoned and homeless Dogs placed in loving homes and the Rescue Groups exhibiting in the 2017 show was a move toward achieving that. By allowing hundreds of rescue groups and shelters to exhibit at the Dog Lovers Show since 2013 we have helped 2,000+ Dogs in need to find loving, well-suited homes and we are very proud of this initiative.

With are confident that the 2017 Melbourne Show helped contribute to improving the lives of many more Dogs, and we encourage you to continue spreading the word to help us promote dog rescue.

Visitors were, and still are, unable to actually adopt a Dog at the Show, but they were provided with all the right information and contacts they needed to make an informed decision. Qualified staff were also on-hand at the Show to advise visitors of all the nearest shelters to visitors’ homes as well as Dogs that were available to adopt at the time which were suitable for visitors’ families and lifestyles. Most of the exhibitors that participated in the Pedigree Rescue Dog Zone were bringing Dogs along to the Show that were available for adoption at the time – so you could actually meet many rescue Dogs at the event.
